Life
is about progressing not attaining perfection. Let me welcome all my readers to
my blog. As I said we all thrive for perfection from the day we get conscience,
which is merely not possible. Perfection is not just scoring an “A” grade in
your exams or winning a football match but a lot more. I believe having flaws
is being human. Like, I can speak to person one on one but I struggle to speak
a word in front of a mass. I realized this when I had to present the progress
presentation last week. Understanding the complex Java codes is yet another
daunting task that I fail to do. At times I have a hard time balancing my ego
and expectations and I end up hurting my loved ones. Not able to concentrate on
studies is another part which is haunting me from my early days in Islington.
Yes!
I have weaknesses and I accept them but what matters is whether I, at least,
try to overcome them or not.
Even
god helps those who help themselves. So, I plan to help myself. My current
module ‘Study Skills for Computing’ will help me overcome my communication-
problem. We will be getting ample of practice giving presentations and writing
reports. Moreover I am also going through books like The Skills for Success (Cottrell, 2003)
which is helping me improve. Last week, I had been on a discussion on improving
concentration. It gave me tips and tricks which can be handy. I have also been
reading books like Objects First with Java (Barnes, 2012) and tutorials from docs.oracle.com.
After a few weeks of jotting the codes and the tutorials, everything has
started to make sense. There is something to learn from everything and
everyone. To sum up, being better tomorrow than what I am today is what I strive
for.
